Staff Cadets

The group uses staff cadets to assist with its mountain activities courses, and many of these cadets go on to become adult instructors with the group. 

A potential staff cadet will have attended several courses and shown that they have the commitment and personal qualities to become a mountain leader. As their experience grows, they take an increasingly active role in leading parties on the hills under the supervision of course staff. Staff training courses give them the opportunity to improve their technical skills in navigation, security on steep ground and emergency procedures
